Two months!

Lily turned two months old yesterday. I can't believe it's already been that long! Time seems to fly by faster and faster, especially as my return to work approaches. I'm not as ready to go back this time as I was with Joshua. Maybe it's because Lily is still not sleeping through the night consistently or maybe it's because I know she's my last baby and I don't want to miss a thing. Either way, I don't have the sense of urgency to return to work that I did last time around.

Finally caught her smile on camera!!
Lily's two month stats and accomplishments:
Weight 11 lbs 12 oz (54%)

Height 23.5 inches (75%)
Diapers size 1-2
Clothes 0-3 months

Lily likes to smile, coo and squeal! She has a whole octave above anything that Joshua ever did. She can push up on her arms when on her tummy and has good head control. She does NOT care for much tummy time. She loves to be held and spends quite a bit of time in the sling with me. She has started giving me 6 hour stretches at night here and there but they aren't real consistent. She tries to pull herself into a sitting position when she is in the bouncy seat or propped on the Boppy so she ends up slumped over to one side quite a bit. If someone is holding her she likes to be held in a sitting position. Once she gets a little more head control I think she will be a big fan of the Bumbo seat.

I was concerned with her growth before we
went to the pedi yesterday. She is growing well and is right where she needs to be on the charts...she's just so much smaller than Joshua! At 2 months Joshua was a little over 14 pounds and was a whole inch longer. He was also in the next size up on clothes. Most of the other stuff is the same but the size difference seems huge. All in all both of them are happy babies (well Joshua's not a baby anymore) that are quick to smile.

Smiling and talking to the star at the top of her play gym

It's been cold for Texas off and on and she finally grew into her bunting. All the pictures of her in the bunting are of her asleep. She does NOT like to put the bunting on and screams like a banshee!

Joshua is taking on the role of big brother more and more. If Lily fusses in the car he now tries to console her by talking to her and rattling her car seat toys. He has also been asking to hold her almost daily and wants to carry her around. He even put on my nursing cover the other night and volunteered to "feed Lily dinner!" So sweet! We haven't introduced a bottle yet but are planning on it this weekend to get her ready for daycare in a few weeks. Maybe we can let him try that with Daddy's help.

Joshua insists that we take his picture with Lily anytime he holds her now!

  1. Lily is so cute! That is so funny about Joshua wanting to feed her. What a wonderful big brother. That's awesome that he tries to calm her down in the car too.
